Rhinebeck - (no parade) Rhinebeck July 4: July 4th celebration — 4 p.m., Dutchess County Fairgrounds, 6550 Spring Brook Ave., Rhinebeck. Hudson Valley Philhramonic to headline and perform with special guest vocalists from Tri-Arts Sharon Playhouse. Craig Fleischer will perform a mix of classical and pops music including Aaron Copland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man” and “Lincoln Portrait,” as well as music from “The Empire Strikes Back” and “ET”. Tri-Arts vocalists will join the Philharmonic on selections from Broadway shows “Rent” and “Hairspray”. Cornwall - Cornwall July 4: Independence Day Celebration — 7 a.m.-9:30 p.m., Most activities held at Town Hall, 183 Main St., Cornwall, breakfast at the Highland Engine Company. Highland Falls - Highland Falls July 4: Parade — 3:30-4:30 p.m., Main Street, Highland Falls, followed by family activities at Roe Park, concludes with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
Newburgh - Newburgh July 4: “Grand Celebration: The Red, White and Blue Family Pageant” — Noon, Washington’s Headquarter’s State Historic Site, corner of Liberty and Washington streets, Newburgh. Greetings and a flag raising ceremony, presided over by “General and Mrs. Grant,” are followed by “The Perfect Fourths,” (“Star Spangled Banner” and other appropriate selections), presented by Dutchess Community College. Line up for the parade, where children dressed in red, white and blue will strut their patriotic stuff for visitors and judges to see, then stay for trivia games in the Museum and a performance by the Golden Songsters in the park. Tours of the historic headquarters are every half hour at no charge; compliments of Regina Angelo and the Friends of the State Historic Sites of the Hudson Highlands. Narrowsburg - Narrowsburg July 2-4: Narrowsburg Celebrates America Festival — July 2-4, throughout various locations in downtown Narrowsburg. A 3-day festival to include an old fashioned fair with carnival games and inflatables, a spectacular fireworks display at dusk on July 3, and a traditional parade at 3 p.m. July 4, followed by a take-out chicken barbecue.
