Ok so first in 2001, the Richards family of Australia set the then-record for holiday home-lighting with a Griswoldian 331,038 lights. That relatively long-standing record was broken last year by the Gay family of LaGrangeville, New York, who decorated their house with 346,283 lights, many of them synchronized to music:
And then IT... WAS... ON.... The Richards family has shattered the record this year with 502,165 lights!!! I don't wanna see THAT electric bill!!
Move over Big Papi 'Nervous' brand new anchor is FIRED after his first words on air are 'f***, s***'
The weekend new anchor who started his new job by swearing live on air with his first words has been let go today by his news station in North Dakota.
KFYR news anchor A.J. Clemente opened up on air by saying ‘F****** s***’ into his live microphone, leaving his co-anchor dumbfounded.
Sadly though for Clemente, KFYRTV fired him today after less than 24-hours in the job and Clemente took to Twitter to say, 'Unfortunately KFYRTV has decided to let me go. Thank you to them and everyone in ND for the opportunity and everyone for the support.'
His tweets are below the video...
Alright News Director and GM checking out my tape that we shot yesterday. Seeing if i am ready for anchoring.....Awkward Turtle.......
That couldn't have gone any worse!
I don't use this blog to talk too much about super personal things, but I wanted to take a moment, before this Thanksgiving, to say that I am thankful for my life and everything in it. The best family & friends, the best career, the best workplace and the best listeners in the Hudson Valley.
This morning our Station Manager Chuck Benfer wrote the below note to our staff. And while this is a share so I may completely suck up to him (grin!) it is also a share because as we talk about the "reason for the season" with other holidays - this note struck me as a perfect way for all of us to re-focus ourselves as we get set to celebrate Thankgiving with our family and friends.
If you agree, please "like" this and share with others. Thanks -- Chris

In 1863, amidst our most violent Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln declared and decreed that the last Thursday [in November] be designated as a National Day of Thanksgiving.
Our 16th President's vision had more to do with reflecting on our blessings of our nation and our rights than the kick off of Black Friday sales and such that we celebrate, and quite frankly, benefit from today.
I share in my favorite President's sentiment that it is right that we take time to pause and reflect on all that we have to be grateful and thankful for.
As I count my blessings and reflect on those things that I am most grateful for, I want you to know that you are part of that list. I am very thankful to have you on my team and very appreciative of all that you do to make us as successful as we are.
My wish for you is that you are able to enjoy this special holiday with the people in your life who matter the most. This is truly the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year.
Over the next few weeks we will give thanks for our blessings, show appreciation to the ones we love and cherish the most and ring in a brand new year.
Please stay safe, stay smart and enjoy your holiday season!
As I mentioned on the air... and I've been guilty of it... people pronounce Rihanna's name wrong... I guess... she sets it straight that it is "Ree-ANN-Uh" NOT "Ree-AH-NUH"... carry on with your holidays. Smooches - Chris
