“Cinema is the most beautiful fraud in the world. Where all of life’s riddles are answered.”
Film has been a huge part of just the American society ever since the first motion picture in 1878. Movies, like music, can bring opposites together and even separate the closest of people. Either way, film has a huge effect on our minds and hearts. Everyone loves movies. I, however, am more than your average movie lover.
Movies are my life...or my life is a movie, I should say. I am fascinated by everything from the dream that started it all to “the cinematic adventure” you experience when you sit down in that theater seat with your favorite candy and drink. Cinema is a type of media that will prevail because it provides a place for our minds to travel away from the routines of everyday life. Something that has constantly been contributing to not only our economy, but our whole being since 1878 and it continues to drastically increase.
Cinema allows anyone and everyone the ability to share their life experiences, their dreams, their ideas, their theories, their hopes, their opinions and simply anything “they” want to share with the world. Even the growth of youtube shows the world’s obsession to share “their story” with everyone.
My blog will provide my extensive insight into film. I’ll post reviews of the newest film releases from me and major film critics, as well as fun facts, actor insight, upcoming film trailers and some behind-the-scenes pictures and info. But first, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a recent college grad in my early 20s and my entire schooling revolves around film studies and production. Even before my college years I was obsessed with film and made several screenplays of my own. A good movie, for me, has to make me think. Something that can take the simplest of story plots and turns it into something you will be talking about for years. A good movie will make me feel. No matter the emotion, if a film can grab an emotion from me it’s a good film. I’m even impressed with films that are so horrifically awful that it pours anger from my pores.
The one genre of movies I am most connected and enamored with is Horror films. I am a huge horror movie buff. I love everything from the original Dawn of the Dead and Psycho to today’s Evil Dead and Insidious. Horror movies fascinate me more than any other genre. One simple reason is because most of us hate being scared or facing our worst fears, yet we continue to watch them via a screen. And no matter how many times we watch a movie we always cover our eyes or ears at a certain part. Why? Questions I will definitely return to in the future.
So get ready……cause it’s lights, camera, and action!
